PAT TESTING
East Coast Contract Cleaning has offered a professional PAT Testing Service to clients for the past 15 years. Portable Appliance Testing or PAT Testing is the process of checking electrical appliances for safety by completing a series of visual inspections and electronic tests. A specialized machine is used to pass electrical items which also produces a label which is then attached to the item.
What is PAT Testing?
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) is a legal requirement throughout Ireland. It is a safety test used on portable appliances to examine whether they are safe for use. Any safety defects that have been missed during the manufacturing process can be found during an electrical PAT test.
How are Portable Appliances tested?
A trained individual can only complete a PAT Test. It follows a step-by-step process:
1
The appliance is tested using a specialised machine.
2
This machine will then create a report based on its findings.
3
A label is produced that should be applied to the lead of your appliance.
What type of portable appliances should be tested?
At East Coast Facility Support Limited, we understand that it is difficult to know which appliances must undergo PAT Testing. There is a two-step checklist that we follow.
1
It is a portable appliance
2
It has a trailing lead or plug
